I have been a figure athlete for the last 16 years. Too many times I have dieted the hard way, as I was unaware of any other way. To be successful, I had convinced myself that it had to be tough and exhausting for it to work.

My view these days couldn’t be further away from my old belief. Ive relearnt everything I thought was true. If only I had known then what I know today!!

THE HARD WAY.
Trying to lose weight when metabolism is slow and hormones are out of balance is a very hard journey. At times, no results are achieved. It is literally like trying to flog a dead horse.
Carbs are cut, calories are low and exhaustion creeps in as a result of excessive cardio. 
Taking this approach can add stress to the body and may slow metabolism down even further.

THE EASY WAY.
Fat loss favours a fast metabolism and good health.

When I decided to listen to my body, I took a season off dieting and made a commitment to invest in my health and improve my metabolism and hormonal balance. I had more rest, I slept more and I ate MORE food, MORE pro-thyroid nourishing nutrient dense food. I was no longer hungry, I no longer craved and I no longer obsessed over food. I was supplying my body with all the essential nutrients it needed. I ate natural sugars, good quality carbs, delicious fruit, beautiful cheese and good quality chocolate. I ate fruit and cheese and quality chocolate. I focused on weight training and completely stopped cardio.

I realized after this season that the journey to a leaner body could actually be enjoyable and healthy. Prepping using a Pro-Metabolic framework can be done long term and would provide a lifestyle that is easily maintained.

Everything fell into place when I decided to:
